Winnifred Ellowyn Peterson served as a volunteer with the American Red Cross during World War II.

She was born in Duluth, Minnesota, on June 7, 1910, the daughter of William and Roxieanna Cowden Peterson. She graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1926.
Mrs. Peterson died at age 97 on January 20, 2008, in Duluth.
