William A. Wiediger was inducted into the Army on January 11, 1943.
He served as a Technician 5th Grade and truck driver with Company C of the 774th Tank Destroyer Battalion of the 30th Infantry Division in Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe.He was wounded in action on August 10, 1944, in the European Theater.
Mr. Wiediger received the Purple Heart, Presidential Unit Citation, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with five bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal and three overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on November 2, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
