William W. Sporter

William W. Sporter enlisted in the Regular Navy on September 13, 1940.

He served as a Fire Controlman First Class aboard the USS Tracy (DM19) and USS Meredith (DD 890) in the Pacific Theater.

Mr. Sporter was awarded the following: Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, and World War II Victory Medal.

He was honorably discharged on November 25, 1946, in Bainbridge, Maryland.
