He served as a Staff Sergeant, radio operator and mechanic with the 870th Bomb Squadron, 497th Bomb Group, 73rd Bomb Wing of the 20th Air Force in the Pacific Theater including the Air Offensive Japan and Eastern U.S. Mandates.
Mr. Hendrickson was awarded the Air Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, and one overseas service bar.
He was honorably discharged at March 28, 1946 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
