William O. Torala

William O. Torala was inducted into the Army on October 11, 1943, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Virginia, Minnesota. 

Mr. Torala served as a Corporal and anti-tank gun crewman with Headquarters Company of the Second Battalion of the 343rd Infantry Regiment in Rhineland, European Theater, and the Pacific Theater.

He was awarded the following: Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern African Campaign Medal with one bronze battle star, World War II Victory Medal, and one overseas service bar.

Mr. Torala was honorably discharged on November 10, 1945, Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
