William J. Koivisto of Embarrass, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on April 16, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He served in Algeria, French Morocco, Tunisia in North Africa, in Naples-Foggia and Rome-Arno, Italy and the Rhineland in Central Europe.
Mr. Koivisto received the: Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Service Unit Citation, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal with six bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal and six overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on September 17, 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
