Mr. Aho entered the Army on November 2, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Chisholm, Minnesota.
He served as a Corporal and heavy mortar crewman with Company D of the 383rd Infantry Regiment in the Southern Philippines and Ryukyu Islands.
He received the following: Bronze Star with bronze service arrowhead, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, American Campaign Medal, and Philippine Liberation Medal with two bronze stars, and two overseas service bars.
Mr. Aho was honorably discharged on January 11, 1946, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
