William Hritzko of Chisholm, Minnesota, was inducted into the Army on March 29, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He was a Sergeant and mortar gunner in the infantry in Normandy and Northern France.
Mr. Hritzko was awarded the Purple Heart with one oak leaf cluster, Bronze Star Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal and three overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged October 11, 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
