William F. Kunstal of Gilbert, Minnesota entered the Army on May 28, 1943 at Fort Snelling, Minn. He saw previous service in 1941 for seven months with the Army Reserve.
He was a Corporal and artillery mechanic with Company B, 136th Medical Regiment, 34th Infantry Division in the Rhineland and Central Europe.
Mr. Kunstal received the: Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, and two overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on March 27, 1946 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
