William Dale Siegel entered the Army Air Corps on August 27, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Eveleth, Minnesota.
He served as a Staff Sergeant and aircraft operations specialist with the Air Transport Command in Egypt and Khartoum, Sudan. His unit opened the air base to receive B-29 bombers at Tripoli in January 1944. He returned to the U.S in May 1944.
He received the following: Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, and World War II Victory Medal.
He was honorably discharged on November 19, 1945, at Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
