Mr. Bolka entered the Army on March 5, 1943.

He served as a Sergeant and light tank commander with Headquarters and Headquarters Company of the Seventh Armored Division in Normandy,  Rhineland, and Central Europe.

He was honorably discharged on October 20, 1945.
