Wilhart Laine of Aurora was inducted into the Army on October 28, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He was a Private First Class and a rifleman with Company I in the 13th Infantry Regiment in Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was wounded in action on December 11, 1944 and February 25, 1945 in the European Theater.
Mr. Laine received the: Purple Heart with oak leaf cluster, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal with three bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal and three overseas service bars.
He was honorablydischarged on October 8, 1945 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
