SEVERSON, Wesley James
Wesley James Severson was born in on October 19th 1924 in Duluth, Minnesota, the son of Olaf H. & Martha B. [Christopherson] Severson. He left high school to join the service.
Mr. Severson entered the Army Air Corps April 21st 1943, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Duluth, Minnesota.
After training, he served as an aircraft and engine mechanic with the 3705th Army Air Forces Base Unit in the U.S. during WWII. He was stationed at Harlingen Army Air Field in Texas. He rose to the rank of Corporal (CPL).
CPL Severson earned the following merits during his service:
- Good Conduct Medal,
- American Campaign Medal, -and-
- World War II Victory Medal.
He was honorably discharged February 14th 1946, at Fort Logan, Colorado. After the war he returned home and married Eleanor Ruth [Tyne] on December 10th 1948 and they started a family.
Mr. Severson died on December 28th 1914 at the ago of 90 years in Duluth. He is buried at Lakeview Cemetery in Two Harbors, Minnesota.

Wesley J. Severson of Duluth entered the Army Air Corps on April 21, 1943. He was a corporal and aircraft and engine mechanic with the 3705th Army Air Forces Base Unit in the U.S. He received the Good Conduct Medal, the American Campaign Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. He was discharged on February 14, 1946.
