Werner H. Pikkarainen

Werner H. Pikkarainen of Virginia, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on Dec. 7, 1843.

He was a Private First Class and a truck driver with Service Battery, 758th Field Artillery Battalion, serving in the Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was wounded in action on March 26, 1945.

Mr, Pikkarainen received the: Purple Heart, European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with three bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal and an overseas service bar.

He was discharged on Nov. 11, 1945.
