Wellin T. Robinson enlisted in the Minnesota National Guard on March 7, 1939.
He began active duty in the Army on Feb. 10, 1941. He served with the 125th Field Artillery, 34th Infantry Division in Ireland; Tunisia, North Africa; Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, North Apennines, and the Po Valley, and during the Italian Campaign. He was in Verona, Italy when the Germans surrendered.
Mr. Robinson was awarded the: Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with 5 bronze battle stars, American Defense Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and 6 overseas service bars.
He was discharged on Sept. 21, 1945.
