KOSKELA, Waino "Wayne" William
Waino "Wayne" William Koskela was born on August 17th 1907 to Sakari & Maria Lyly [Briita] Koskela in Chisholm, Minnesota. Before enlisting in the service he married Jennie [Ojala] in 1935.
Mr. Koskela registered for service on September 16th 1943. He was inducted into the U.S. Army on October 7th 1943 at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. He was a military policeman (MP) with the 757th MP Battalion in the United States. He rose to the rank of Sergeant (SGT).
SGT Koskela received the Good Conduct Medal.
He was discharged on September 5th 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
Mr. Koskela died on May 9th 1988 at the age of 80 years old. He is buried at Calvary Cemetery in Chisholm.
