Walter R. Loumala

Walter R. Loumala was inducted into the Army on March 10, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home of entry: Chisholm, Minnesota.

He served as a Private First Class and machine gunner with Battery A of the 225th Field Artillery Battalion in the Southern Philippines (Liberation) and Ryukyu Islands.

Mr. Loumala was awarded the following: American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, Philippines (Liberation) Medal with one bronze star and six overseas service bars.

He was honorably discharged December 10, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
