Walter Matt Lehto

Walter Matt Lehto of Embarrass, Minnesota enlisted into the Naval Reserve on September 22, 1943.

He served as a Fireman 1st Class aboard the destroyer USS King (DD 242), COM LST Flotilla 5, and the aircraft carrier USS Midway (CVB 41).

He received the: Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with one bronze battle star, Philippine Liberation Medal with two bronze stars, Amphibious Force Insignia, American Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal.

He was honorably discharged on March 23, 1946, at Great Lakes, IL.
