Walter Johennes Takala was born on April 8th 1908 in Angora, Minnesota.

Mr. Takala served as a Private First Class and truck driver with the 375th Transportation Corps in the continental U.S.
He was awarded the following:

- American Campaign Medal, -and-
- World War II Victory Medal.
Mr. Takala was honorably discharged September 18th 1947, at Percy Jones Hospital, Fort Custer, Michigan. He died on September 15th 1985 in Angora, Minnesota at the age of 77 years old. He is buried at Alango Cemetery in Angora.
