Walter A. Hill enlisted in the Regular Army Air Corps on December 10, 1941 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He was a Sergeant and administrative NCO in the 340th Fighter Squadron in New Guinea, Bismarck Archipelago, Southern Philippines, Luzon and Ryukyu Islands.
Mr. Hill was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Citation, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with five bronze battle stars, Philippine Liberation Medal with one bronze star, World War II Victory Medal and four overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged October, 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
