Waino Teppo was born in Virginia, Minnesota on Februay 2nd 1908 to Salomonpoika & Hulda Susanna Teppo.
Mr. Teppo was inducted into the Army on April 30th 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Virginia, Minnesota.
Mr. Teppo served as a Technician Fifth Grade and truck driver with Battery B of the 7434th Field Artillery in Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe.
He was awarded the following:
- Bronze Star Medal,
- Good Conduct Medal,
- American Defense Service Medal,
- American Campaign Medal,
- European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 3 bronze battle stars,
- World War II Victory Medal, and
- Four overseas service bars.
Mr. Teppo was honorably discharged on November 11th 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin. He died July 25th 1982 in his hometown of Virginia.
