COLLYARD, Victor Emanuel
Victor Emanuel Collyard was born on March 16th 1911 to Joseph J. & Mary Christina [Massa] Collyard in Hibbing, Minnesota.
One month before Pearl Harbor, Mr. Collyard married Clara Matilda [Romani] on November 8th 1941. During WWII he was inducted into the U.S. Army August 24th 1942 at Fort Snelling, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Home at entry: Hibbing.
He served as a chief clerk with Headquarters and Service company of the allied Forces in the European Theater. He rose to the rank of Technician Fifth Grade (TEC5).
TEC5 Collyard earned the following merits for his service:
- Good Conduct Medal,
- American Campaign Medal,
- European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, -and-
- World War II Victory Medal.
He was honorably discharged January 8th 1946 at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin. After the war he returned home to his wife
Mr. Collyard died on October 1st 1972 at 61 years of age. He is buried at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
