Vernon "Vern" Gustafson served in World War II in the Pacific Theater.

He served in the U.S. Navy as a member of the 14th Battalion of the Seabees (Construction Battalion).

He was born on November 26, 1926, in Bemidji, Minnesota, the son of Adolph and Violet (Bahr) Gustafson.

Mr. Gustafson died at age 81 in Duluth, Minnesota, died on June 24, 2008.
