Veikko Dahlbacka

Veikko Dahlbacka entered the Army on June, 1943.

He served at the rank of technician 5th grade as a driver and ammunition handler for the 695th Field Artillery, which used 105 mm howitzers mounted on M7 tanks with 50 cal. machine guns. He landed on Utah Beach, Normandy, three days after D-day. He also served in Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, and other locations in Central Europe.

His awards include the:

European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with 5 bronze battle stars.

He was separated in December, 1945.
