Vaner A. Johnson

Vaner A. Johnson was inducted into the Army on May 20, 1941 at Fort Snelling, Minn.

He was a Private with the 161st Infantry Regiment in the Pacific Theater.

Mr. Johnson was awarded the:  American Defense Service Medal and Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with one bronze battle star (Guadalcanal). 

He was honorably discharged on November 18, 1943 at O'Reilly Army General Hospital, Springfield, Mo.
