Valentine Anthony Ulcher was born on February 18th 1920 to Frank & Josephine [Tekalec] Ulcher in Gilbert, Minnesota.
Mr. Ulcher was inducted into the Army on March 10th 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Gilbert, Minnesota.
Mr. Ulcher served as a Technician Fourth Grade (TEC4) and carpenter with Company C of the 1299th Engineer Combat Battalion in the Pacific Theater.
He was awarded the following medals for service:
- Good Conduct Medal,
- American Campaign Medal,
- Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal,
- World War II Victory Medal,
- one overseas service bar, -and-
- Philippine Liberation Medal.
He was honorably discharged on February 10th 1946, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
