Tony J. Sametz was inducted into the Army Air Corps on August 29, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Chisholm, Minnesota.

He served as a Corporal and auto mechanic with Headquarters and Base Services Squadron of the 526th Air Service Group in Naples-Foggia and Rome-Arno, Italy.

Mr. Sametz was awarded the following: European-African- Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, and three overseas service bars.

He was honorably discharged on July 7, 1945 at Fort Snelling, Minnesota.
