Toivo Nakari of Togo was inducted into the Army Air Corps on March 29, 1942.
He was a Private First Class and a munitions worker with the 12th Bomb Group in Egypt, Libya and Tunisia in North Africa and Sicily, Naples-Foggia and Rome-Arno in Italy and the China-India-Burma Theater.
Mr. Nakari received the: Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with five bronze battle stars, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Service Medal with one bronze battle star, Atlantic Theater Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal and five overseas service bars.
He was discharged on Sept. 18, 1945.
