VUKELICH, Thomas Matthew
Thomas Matthew Vukelich was born on November 15th 1912 to Thomas & Barbara [Krazevich] Vukelich in Virginia, Minnesota.
Mr. Vukelich was inducted into the Army on March 10th 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Virginia, Minnesota.
He served as a Technical Sergeant and a high speed radio operator with the 3116 Signal Service Battalion in the European and Pacific Theaters.
T/SGT Vukelich was awarded the following:
- American Campaign Medal,
- Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal,
- European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, -and-
- World War II Victory Medal.
Mr. Vukelich was honorably discharged on October 30th 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
After the war he married Albina Theresa [Pluskwik] and started a family. Me Vukelich died on January 29th 1995. He is buried at Calvary Cemetery in Virginia, Minnesota.
