Thomas J. Juth of Eveleth, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on August 28, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minn.

He was a Sergeant, and served as a clerk and dental assistant in the United States. In his words, while at Camp Clarinda, Iowa, a Prisoner of War camp for German and Japanese POWs:

"Had a lot of hard-core Nazi's who couldn't believe Germany was losing war 'til in '44 and '45. Germans were 14 year olds along with men who, to me, seemed to be in their 60s."

He received the: Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal.

He was honorably discharged on February 7, 1946 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
