HEDIN, Theodore John
Theodore John Hedin was born on June 20th 1915 to John William Andrew & Genevieve Rosalyn [Flamang] Hedin in Kettle River, Minnesota. He later moved to Duluth, Minnesota.
Mr. Hedin enlisted on October 16th 1940 and served in World War II in the European Theater.
He served in the U.S. Army in a tank battalion. He participated in Africa, in the Normandy Invasion, and in both the Anzio and Sicily campaigns. He rose to the rank of Corporal (CPL).
CPL Hedin was honorably discharged on October 1st 1945.
Mr. Hedin died on March 19th 1988 at 72 years of age in Gordon, Wisconsin. He is buried at Gordon Memorial Cemetery in Gordon.
His brother, Max Winfred Hedin, married Shirley Lumae Armstrong, who is featured on the cover of the September 1943 Life Magazine.
