Tauno R. Johnson

Tauno R. Johnson of Gilbert, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on June 28, 1941 at Fort Snelling, Minn.

He was a Sergeant and gun crew NCO with Battery A of the 434th (A) Field Artillery Battalion in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe.

Mr. Johnson received the: Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal with five bronze battle stars, American Defense Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal and four overseas service bars.

He was honorably discharged on October 21, 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
