Sulo E. Kangas of Hibbing, Minnesota was inducted into the Army Air Corps on August 26, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He was a Private and served as an airplane and engine mechanic with the 77th Bombardment Squadron in Alaska, and the Aleutians, during the air offensive of Japan.
Mr. Kangas received the: Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars.
He was discharged on October 19, 1945 at Santa Ana, Calif.
