Steve Sulentich entered the Army Air Corps on February 27, 1942.
He served as a Staff Sergeant and air crew chief with the 378th Fighter Squadron of the Ninth Air Force in the Air Offensive Europe, Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe.
Mr. Sulentich was awarded the following: Presidential Unit Citation with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with five silver battle stars and one bronze battle star, World War II Victory Medal, and three overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on October 16,1946. He also served in the postwar in the U.S. Air Force.
