Steve F. Parzyck was inducted into the Army Air Corps on April 29, 1942.
He was later commissioned as a flight officer and a glider pilot and served in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya in North Africa and Sicily, Naples-Foggia and Rome-Arno in the Italian campaign plus northern France and Rhineland.
He received the: Air Medal, Distinguished Unit Citation with Oak Leaf Cluster, European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with eight bronze battle stars.
He was released from active duty on Sept. 27, 1945.
