Stanley O. Johnson of Soudan, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on August 10, 1944 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
As a Private First Class and heavy mortar crewman with Company D of the 15th Infantry Regiment of the 3rd Infantry Division in the Rhineland of Central Europe.
Mr. Johnson was awarded the: Bronze Star Medal, Distinguished Unit Citation, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, two overseas bars and Croix de Guerre Fourragere (France).
He was honorably discharged on April 1, 1946 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
