Stanley H. Paulson

Stanley H. Paulson entered the Army Air Corps on June 18, 1941.

He was a Private First Class and an armorer and cook with the 448th Ordnance Company, 12th Bomb Group; 12th Observation Squadron in 1942 and the 12th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron in England.

Until P-51 Mustang aircraft came in 1943, the group flew British Spitfires on reconnaissance for General George Patton's 3rd Army. They were sent to Nuremburg, Germany, in March 1945 via Luxembourg, Belgium and Frankfurt.

Mr. Paulson returned to the United States in August, 1945, after service in England, northern France, Central Europe and Germany.

He was discharged in September 1945 but later served 20 years in U.S. Air Force, retiring in 1962 as a Master Sergeant.
