Stanley F. Bukowski

Mr. Bukowski entered the Army on October 13, 1944, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Kettle River, Minnesota.

He served as a Private First Class, rifleman, and infantryman with Company B, 1st Infantry, 6th Division in Luzon, Philippines. Attended basic training at Camp Robinson, Arkansas. Assigned to the First Infantry fighting in the northern hills on Luzon on April 12, 1945, and fought in combat there till the end of the war. Served with the occupation forces pulling military police duty in Pohang, Korea.

He was awarded the following: Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with one bronze battle star, World War II Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal (Japan), Combat Infantryman Badge, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one bronze battle star, and two overseas service bars.

Mr. Bukowski was honorably discharged on November 5, 1946, at Fort Sheridan, Illinois.
