Stanley A. Barquist
Mr. Barquist inducted into the Army on February 28, 1943, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Proctor, Minnesota.
He served as a Technician Fifth Grade and an infantryman with Headquarters and Service Company (Inf.) in Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, and on the Anzio beach on January 22, 1944, as a radioman to his company commander. He participated in the liberation of Rome in June 1944.
He received the following: Bronze Star Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, and World War II Victory Medal.
Mr. Barquist was honorably discharged on December 14, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
