Speiro Eli Fondurulia was born on September 17th 1914 to Eli & Julia [Milavosnich] Fondurulia in Kinney, Minnesota.
Mr. Fondurulia was inducted into the U.S. Army on June 11th 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minnesota.
He served as a auto mechanic with the Quartermaster Corps of the 3339th Quartermaster Truck Company in Tunisia, North Africa; Sicily, Naples-Foggia and Rome-Arno,Italy; Southern France; Rhineland and Central Europe. He rose to the rank of TEC5.
TEC5 Fondurulia earned the following merits for his service:
- European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal with bronze arrowhead,
- World War II Victory Medal, -and-
- five overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on September 11th 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin. After the war he returned home and married Anna Bernadette 'Ann' ]Pintar] and they started a famiily.
Mr. Fondurulia died on Novemver 29th 1972 at 58 years of age in Denver, Colorado. He is buried at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
