Sigvert J. Suihkonen

Sigvert J. Suihkonen was inducted into the Army Air Corps on January 21, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota.  Home at entry: Embarrass, Minnesota.

He served as a Private First Class and aircraft and engine mechanic with Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron of the 45th Air Service Group in the East Indies and Papua, New Guinea.

Mr. Suihkonen was awarded the following: Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, and World War II Victory Medal.

He was honorably discharged on September 19, 1945, at Santa Ana, California.
