Selma Engdall enlisted in the Army Nurse Corps on July 8, 1942 and was assigned to Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Her rank was Lieutenant.
She was sent overseas in December of 1942 on the hospital ship Acadia of the 209th Hospital unit. In January of 1944 Selma was assigned to shore duty at Charleston, South Carolina.
She served there until she reverted to inactive duty on January 20, 1945.
