Russell J. Sixberry

Russell J. Sixberry was inducted into the Army on April 28, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Side Lake, Minnesota.

He served as a Technician Fourth Grade and auto mechanic with Battery B of the 136th Field Artillery Battalion of the 37th Infantry Division in New Guinea, Northern Solomons, and Luzon.

He received the following: Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with three bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, two overseas service bars, and Philippine Liberation Medal with one bronze star.

He was honorably discharged on December 24, 1945, Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
