Russell J. Anderson - son of J. Alfred and Stella Anderson of Cook Minnesota, entered the army on April 2nd 1943.
He served in North Africa, Sicily and Italy.

After the war he served as a POW guard at Camp Polk, Louisiana and later as fire chief at Fort Knox, Kentucky.
He was discharged on Aug. 11 - 1952, with the rank of staff sergeant.
