Russell Charles Palmquist served in World War II.
He was inducted into the U.S. Army on October 31, 1945, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota, and assigned to the Army Air Forces. He was sent to Shepherd’s Field, Texas, for basic training. He was sent for advanced training to Mitchell Field, Long Island, New York. He was in the Medical Corps. Mr. Palmquist was discharged on April 16, 1947.
His rank was Corporal.
Mr. Palmquist was born in 1927, the son of Victor and Mary Palmquist. He graduated from Chisholm (Minnesota) High School in 1945.

“Upon graduation Russell was drafted into the Air Force and sent to Fort Snelling. Then he was sent to Shepherds Field in Texas for basic training. After that, Russell went to Mitchell Field on Long Island, NY. He was in the Medical Corps until his discharge from service.”
