Rudolph Jerry Kohel was inducted into the Marine Corps Reserve on April 15, 1944.
He served as a Private First Class and truck driver in Okinawa, Ryukyu Islands, and Occupation of China in the Pacific Theater. He was wounded in action on July 24, 1945, in Okinawa.
Mr. Kohel was awarded the: Purple Heart, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with one bronze battle star, World War II Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal (China).
He was honorably discharged on March 9, 1946, in San Diego, California.
