MARINO, Roy Rosario
Roy Rosario Marino was born on July 21st 1917 to Rosario & Josephine [Marana] Marino in Hibbing, Minnesota.
Mr. Marino was inducted into the U.S, Army on June 19th 1941 at Fort Snelling in Minneapolis, Minnesota during WWII. Home at entry: Hibbing.
He served as a truck driver with Headquarters Company of the Sixth Infantry Division in New Guinea and Luzon. He rose to the rank of Technician 5th Grade (TEC5).
TEC Marino earned the following merits for his service:
- Good Conduct Medal,
- American Defense Service Medal,
- American Campaign Medal,
- Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 2 bronze battle stars and bronze arrowhead,
- World War II Victory Medal,
- four overseas service bars. -and-
- Philippine Liberation Medal with one bronze star.
He was honorably discharged on November 16th 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
Mr. Marino died on December 6th 1993 at 76 years of age. He is buried at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
