Roy L. Rootes

Roy L. Rootes was inducted into the Army on March 24, 1944, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Hibbing, Minnesota.

He served as a Private First Class and supply clerk with the 623rd Quartermaster Railhead Company in Luzon, Philippines.

Mr. Rootes was awarded the following: Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with one bronze battle star, World War II Victory Medal one overseas service bar, Philippine Liberation Medal.

He was honorably discharged on January 16, 1946, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
