Roy J. Packa of Iron, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on Sept. 15, 1944.
He was a Private First Class and a rifleman with Company I, 184th Infantry Regiment, serving on the Ryukyu Islands in the Pacific theater. He was wounded in action on May 24, 1945 on Okinawa.
Mr. Packa received the: Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Service Medal with a bronze battle star, Army of Occupation Service Medal (Japan) and World War II Victory Medal.
He was discharged on Oct. 31, 1946.
