Robert W. Stephens

Robert W. Stephens enlisted in the Army on May 13, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Hibbing, Minnesota.

He served as a Technician Fifth Grade with the 281st Military Police Company in Rome-Arno, North Apennines, and Po Valley, Italy.

Mr. Stephens was awarded the following: Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with three bronze battle stars, and World War II Victory Medal with three overseas service bars.

He was honorably discharged on November 30, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.

Mr. Stephen also served as a Sergeant in the Regular Army with Headquarters Company of the Ninth Infantry Regiment from June 25, 1946, to June 24, 1949, in the continental U.S. and as a Master Sergeant with Company C of the 136th Infantry Regiment of the 47th Infantry Division in the Army National Guard from January 8 through November 1, 1951.
